IP CCTV SYSTEM SOLVES ESTATE'S ANTISOCIAL BEHAVIOUR PROBLEM
Brief
The proposal requested entailed a system installation of 8 camera HD CCTV system locating the high risk areas of anti-social behaviour. cameras. The cameras were to be positioned in 8 different locations in and around the building. Providing full coverage of 278 – 312 Old Lodge Lane, which is two of the main blocks for this small estate in South Croydon. The estate was experiencing problems such as graffiti, criminal damage and fly tipping. The managing agent, Pimms Management Company, contacted Digital Technology Solutions for a solution to their issues.
The Management company required face recognition of perpetrators in order to get the local authorities involved and possible prosecute as well identify the persons responsible for the antisocial behaviour. Digital Technology Solutions were chosen due to our vast experience and expertise at creating solutions for all needs.
Strategy
The managing agent tasked us to present a solution that would eradicate or decrease the level of anti-social and criminal behaviour. The system proposed had to be vandal proof in order to prevent the culprits attempting to damage it. Final request from management company was to have the ability to monitor the premises remotely from their office which is located 30 miles away from the property. DTS supplied and installed a high spec HD surveillance CCTV solution with eight Hikvision HD cameras across the two blocks. The cameras used were 2MP Hikvision dome IP cameras with infrared allowing vision of up to 40 meters at night as well incredible zooming capabilities. The system was integrated with the broadband onsite in order to create remote viewing of these cameras from the management company’s office through pcs or hand held smart devices.
Results
Following the installation of 8 channel hikvision IP CCTV system, the estate there has been a dramatic decrease to graffiti, criminal damage and a massive improvement on fly-tipping. Due to the CCTV installation 3 culprits have been caught on camera and footage passed on local authorities for further actions. Management company is extremely pleased with the result and digital coverage of their estate and have been asked Dts to take on several other projects.
